The present Primary School was built as a British School in 1848 and enlarged in 1872. In that it was a "British" school it was a non conformist school as opposed to "National" schools which were Church of England schools. It was probably run by the Baptists because in 1841 the C of E school only had 22 pupils but the Baptist school had 70.The Education Bill of 1870 said that all children should receive education and so it became Langham County Primary, for up to 150 boys and girls.

The small schools cluster non-pupil day (Friday 12th Feb) was taken up with all the teachers attending a Creative Arts Day at Belstead House in Ipswich. There, they were joined by parallel teachers from the other small schools in the Cluster and attended three sessions in all. These were: · a story-telling workshop led by children's author : Hugh Lupton. · an art/ landscape painting workshop geared to the Primary age range · a "making the most of simple percussion" workshop focussing on pupil group work and composing
All in all, it was a very enjoyable day for everyone involved, with plenty of opportunities for staff to network with their counterparts from the other 9 small, primary schools.
The number of children attending the school is now 101.
