Contrary to popular belief the charming 17th century house to the north of the
churchyard was never the parsonage. This was until recent years some way to the south on a
separate manor which in 1610 consisted of 66 acres of glebe and 23 acres of copyhold land.
In 1993 the remnant of a medieval hall which had almost certainly been the rectory house
was discovered at Glebe Farm. |
| A spacious rectory (known in recent times as Glebe House) built in the early
years of the 19th century was exchanged in 1953 for a smaller one on Gun Hill. |

This in turn was sold in 1975. The rectory house of the united benefice of Boxted
& Langham is now a modern building in Wick Road, Langham. |
