Although legally one, the churchyard effectively consists of two parts: the 'old', bounded on the west and south by brick walls; and the 'new', which, coming into use in the 1930s, occupies part of the area once called "Church Green". In the 'new' churchyard is buried Mark ("Max") Plowman (1883-1941), minor poet, Christian Socialist, Secretary of the Peace Pledge Union and co-founder of the Adelphi Centre at The Oaks (now Homestead School), Langham. |
