The WEA was started as the Workers Educational Association but has now evolved so that it is a series of lectures for people from the local region. The Langham Branch of the WEA has been in operation for a number of years and during that time has had some excellent courses of lectures.

There are normally two courses of lectures per year, one in the autumn term and one in the spring. Lectures are held in the Community Centre normally on a Wednesday starting at 7.30pm. Unfortunately the WEA may not be able to continue after this term because of lack of support.

Anyone who feels that they could help revive this valuable organisation please contact Marlena Lipski on 01206 272727.

The lectures this term, are on ''Art in East Anglia" and are led by Graham Slimming. In the past lectures have included: "Local History, Buildings and Landscape", "Alternative World Views", "Tracing your Ancestors", "You and the Law", "The History of Ancient Egypt", "The Medicine Line", "Looking at Antique Furniture", "The Impressionists", "Timber Framed Houses of East Anglia" and "Weather Watch.
