Group Executive Committee

 

The 2nd Langham Scout Group is overseen by a Group Executive Committee consisting of the following members at the current time:-

Scout Troop

The largest section of the group with entry from boys and girls from the age of 10 1/2 years. At the present time there are 19 members of the troop. Their programme of activities is very wide and varied and is based on the Scout Training Programme

 

 

Cub Pack

 

Leader: Mrs Gillian Walker  Tel 01206 272261

Assistant Leader: Miss Sophie Morley

 

Again a very active section of the group with a present membership of 16 boys and girls. Their programme of activities on a Wednesday evening evolves round a varied yet structured Cub Scout Training Scheme. The aim of the Scout Association is to encourage the physical, mental and spiritual development in young people so that they may take a constructive place in society. Examples of their activities are: Badge Work for cooking, music, handicrafts, science, etc. Participating in District Football and Swimming competitions. Weekend camps on authorised sites with the older cubs sometimes joining with Scout activities.

 

 

Beaver Colony

This is a very active section with a maximum membership of 20 boys and girls. Each week the programme has a different theme. The beavers are encouraged to participate in District Functions and attend short hikes and fun day events.
